Resource Pack #5
In this Resource Pack, we have included five helpful resources
we think will encourage and enrich you and your ministry.
Total Forgiveness by R.T. Kendall (Book)
Veteran pastor of London’s Westminster Chapel, Kendall
embraces a biblical approach to the examination of what God’s type of forgiveness
is all about. He contends that true healing and freedom only comes from total
forgiveness. Embedded in and loaded with scripture, this study of forgiveness
gets practical by marking the steps to total forgiveness and the attitudes present
when total forgiveness is reached.
I believe we often lead people into shallow forgiveness and
overlook the need to experience the same depth of forgiveness that our Savior
modeled. I believe this work will encourage and admonish you and will inspire
some good teaching.
Worship Leader Song Discovery Series; Vol. 33 (CD)
Worship Leader Song Discovery series is a compilation CD
presenting the best of new worship songs from a variety of sources, worship settings
and music styles. On this CD you will enjoy numerous worship songs worthy of your
attention including one of Duane Clark's songs (a long-time friend of ours and
a Vanguard Music Group minister), "I Will Lift Up." In addition,
“Mighty River”, a song written by Jason Upton, a VM member,
is performed by The Katinas. We are really excited about the national
recognition our members are receiving and more importantly, we are thrilled that
God is using it to bless many more churches and people.
Cutting Edge Magazine by Vineyard Churches of North America
I have been receiving this journal for several years and
been encouraged by its focus and content. It is a publication which is a product
of the North America Vineyard’s Church Planting department. This issue,
summer 2002, focuses on building multi-ethnic churches and the unique obstacles
faced when planting these culture-impacting churches. I hope you will find the
articles helpful. Don’t miss the Q&A with Jeff Bailey and Dr. Michael
Emerson.
Ministries Today - (Articles)
All of you have access to Ministries Today and most of you
probably regularly review its contents. It’s rare for me to be impressed
sufficiently to pass on an article reprint but I thought these two recent articles
deserve your reading and reflections.
“His Presence: The Key to Church Growth”
by Larry Keefauver (September/October 2002) - An overview
of church growth paradigms. Which one do you identify with?
“Do You Have the Support You Need?”
by Lou Shirey (November/December 2002) - A fresh emphasis on an old but critical
subject, minister burnout.
Anointed for Business by Ed Silvoso (Book)
Today the heart of the city is still the marketplace; yet
the dichotomy between what we do for a living and what we do for God has impeded
the advancement of His Kingdom. Silvoso's inspiring book shows why it's time to
break down the wall between labor and religious service, and view labor as worship,
just as God intended. Only then can we extend God's kingdom to every corner of
our world.
"Realizing the Leadership Power of Emotional Intelligence"
by Daniel Goleman (Audio tape)
Daniel Goleman, renowned author, lecturer and psychologist
was the special ministry guest at Willow Creek’s Leadership Conference in
August. After reviewing this message I felt like each of you would greatly benefit
from listening to some fresh perspectives. Emotional Intelligence has been a hot
subject for several years in secular circles; listen and learn. In behavioral
science, there was a time when IQ was considered the leading determinant of success.
Based on brain and behavioral research, Daniel Goleman argues that our IQ-idolizing
view of intelligence is far too narrow. Instead, Goleman makes the case for "emotional
intelligence" being the strongest indicator of human success. Goleman’s
Christian testimony under girds his enlightening message.
