& 2. The Essential Managers: Mini Books
Once again two mini books
from The "Essential Managers" series are included. This series
is an appealing set of 20 itty-bitty books on business and career
topics. The response from the previous two mini books was outstanding. Here
is a description of the two included this time.
Essential Managers: How to Delegate
by Robert Heller
This booklet is only 72
pages but filled with some extremely helpful advice for managers
and leaders. This guide simplifies the process of letting go,
shows you what and how to delegate and how to monitor your delegating
skills. It utilizes mini-case studies, check-lists and easy-to-read
flowcharts. As in the rest of the series’ publications, the jazzy
designed pages, signature format will aid your learning from this
thumbnail guide to the basics of delegation. Remember, delegate
or stagnate!
Essential Managers: Dealing with Difficult People
by Christina Osborne
Osborne's booklet helps
leaders and managers to identify difficult people and to know
how to work with them by knowing how people are different. It
also examines thinking about how to motivate people and understanding
the art of observing and managing difficult people. You will learn
to apply practical techniques to identify and understand difficult
people. It provides some simple checklists which will enable you
to anticipate problems and find the best solutions for challenging
situations.
3.
The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness - Book
by Stephen Covey
Stephen Covey, the best-selling
author of the Seven Habits of Highly Successful People says that
the information/internet age we have embarked on requires an additional
8th habit to help people to achieve personal and organizational
excellence. He identifies, finding your voice and inspiring others
to find theirs, as his 8th habit. It focuses on helping us to
find our own unique personal significance. It will instruct you
to inspire others in the workplace and in your spheres of influence
by establishing trust, searching for third alternatives, and developing
a shared vision.
4. Monday
Morning Leadership - Book
by David Cotrell
I recently ran across a
wonderful short book on leadership and coaching. In my opinion,
the best books are brief, clear and pertinent. Monday Morning
Leadership fits all those requirements. The format is around a
man who’s struggling as a manager, his family and work is not
going well, and he is not happy. He contacts an old family friend
who had been successful in business, who agrees to meet for eight
weeks and pass on advice. They meet on Monday mornings, thus the
title. There is one chapter for each session. I think you will
agree this is worth your time.
5. "Are
you Ready to Carry the Promises of God to Full
Term Rather than Aborting Them?" - Audio CD
by Heidi Baker
Heidi
Baker is one of those unique instruments the Lord chooses to use
in remarkable ways to impact the world. In addition to serving
as an apostolic missionary in Mozambique, she has a word for believers
around the world.
