In August, Pastor Cary Paulk, a VM Associate
Minister, took a short-term missions trip to Romania. While there, he ministered
with Tudor & Vali Machidon who are prayer warriors and indigeneous church
planters.
Tudor starts his day at 5:30 every morning in his prayer closet. In this small
closet are two bulletin boards filled with pictures of the people that he prays
for daily. Tudor Machidon and his wife Vali are prayer warriors. You cannot plant
churches without prayer. In the nation of Romania there are 10,000 villages without
an evangelical church. Tudor and Vali are actively doing something about that.
They are indigeneous church planters who live in the city of Sibiu, Romania.
They visit the villages surrounding Sibiu and build relationships with the people.
They lead them to Christ and establish churches in the villages. Once they get
50 people, they install a pastor and move on to the next village. And on and on
it goes. They have also planted a church in the Republic of Moldava.
Crushing poverty still grips the nation of Romania. Things have improved greatly
since the revolution, but they still have a long way to go. Most village families
subsist off whatever they can grow on the land. There is a great need for business
missionaries who can help the villagers start micro or cottage businesses to support
themselves and the ministry. There is also a great need for outreach teams to
assist the indigenous church planters in jump starting church plants (i.e., drama
teams, music teams, etc...)
If you are interested in providing financial support, or being a part of a
future mission team, you can contact Cary Paulk at 757-587-4625 or email at cpaulk4@cox.net.
