Two years after a sister congregation was launched by Word of Life Community Church of Cranston, RI in the inner city of Providence, a major breakthrough has been realized. In May 2002 they received approval from a private foundation to receive a $1,000,000 grant. The money is to be used to provide a holistic Christian response to the needs of urban youth and children. They intend to fund the purchase of a community center which will serve as a local church meeting site and an urban community center. Some of the funds will also be used to enable the award winning daycare center of WOLCC-Cranston to impact the surrounding suburban neighborhood families. The most exciting part of this miracle is the empowering results for their membership. All of us are rejoicing with our VM partner church in Rhode Island!
