Vanguard
Global Training endeavors to equip leaders who are on the frontlines
of ministry around the world. Recently, Bobby Hill, Vanguard’s
International Director, participated in a Vanguard Global Training
Conference in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Africa.
According
to team leader Bobby Hill, it was a very fruitful ministry
trip.
“A top-notch team of equippers was recruited from seven different
churches from the US and Belgium,“ said Hill. These conferences
are designed to provide quality biblically-based training for
frontline ministry leaders in unreached and unevangelized countries.
In cooperation with a supportive organizing committee, they were
able to attract 3,500 leaders in Lubumbashi and Licasi, DRC. The
leadership training was delivered in multiple tracks for leaders
in worship, pastoral ministry, youth, and the marketplace.
Some
of the Conference topics included:
- Discovering
Your Shape and Size as a Leader
- Moving
Up the Ladder of Leadership
- Resolving
Conflicts the Bible Way
- The
Power of Vision
- The
Biblical Basis for Marketplace Ministry
- Dealing
with the Myths of Leadership
- Integrating
the Supernatural into the Workplace
- Embracing
Biblical Core Values for your church
The
trainers saw Congo’s amazing natural and spiritual potential.
“As a team, I believe we were able to make a contribution towards
the country’s future,” said Hill. Not only was each leader provided
with
a syllabus of leadership training notes in their own language
but also warm meals were provided for each day of the conference.
The week concluded with a closing ceremony which included praying
a blessing over each ministry leader and giving them a certificate
of completion. “It was touching how special this was to them,”
said a team member.
The
pastors expressed their heartwarming gratitude. One pastor explained
how his church had doubled in size since the last training conference
and wanted the leaders to lay hands on him once again. Of course,
the team knew only God can cause church growth like that. While
transiting through Kinshassa, the capital, the team members were
hosted by the US Embassy and prayed over several government officials.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to see the power of
God in action in a developing country.
“It
is such an honor and a blessing to serve God’s shepherds and leaders
around the globe,” concluded Hill. He added, “God is raising up
a new generation of leaders who are equipped to build the kingdom.”
Surely, the fruit of this ministry proves that viewpoint.
