June, 2005

We
traveled to the Philippines during June where the largest non-USA
Discipling Another to Love Jesus (DA2LJ) ministry exists.
We were in Cebu and in the terrorist-infested area of Davao.
Our
work in the Philippines began several years ago and to date we
have trained 2,000 pastors and leaders in the art of one-on-one
discipleship of new believers. Many of these have implemented
DA2LJ in their churches; many others are out doing it on their
own with new believers all over the Philippines.
Our
National Director for DA2LJ in the Philippines is Pastor Fred
Monasterio from Cebu. Pastor Fred grabbed the DA2LJ vision the
first time he heard it and he is doing an amazing work there for
the Lord to help bring back one-on-one discipleship. Fred is a
visionary and world-changing guy and has already traveled to Cambodia
and Thailand to prepare for bringing DA2LJ there as well. Fred's
own church has tripled in size due to using the DA2LJ ministry
with young adults and through Fred we have also trained hundreds
of World Vision workers all over the Philippines.
During
our time in Davao we were in danger from terrorists who kidnap
westerners for ransom. We were guarded 24 hours a day by armed
soldiers everywhere we went. Why go there? We trained 300 pastors
in Davao how to use the DA2LJ ministry - that's the Great Commission
at work, and that's why we go.
We
are available, as schedule permits, to come and do Discipling
Another to Love Jesus conferences at churches anywhere in the
world - please contact us at: ivesrick@yahoo.com
