Welcome
Debra-Louise Cossu
Debra-Louise
Cossu was saved at the age of 16 during a Methodist youth meeting
in 1971. From the beginning of Debra's relationship with the Lord,
the prophetic flowed very readily. While still in the youth group,
she began to pray for those who had not received salvation. She
was actively involved in bible studies, outreaches, etc. with
her senior class. Eventually, they bought out a bar and turned
it into a coffee house named "The Mustard Seed".
In her early 20's,
Debra was connected to the Catholic Charismatic Movement and served
on "Prophetic Benches" during conferences. Debra also
taught several classes on "Life in the Spirit" seminars,
began the "MOPS" program at a local church, taught after
school programs and mentored single mothers in bible studies.
On December 31, 2001
while giving a prophetic word to a local congregation, an aneurysm
burst in her brain. While many friends and intercessors prayed,
Debra was rushed to the emergency room. The doctors ran tests
and went in to locate the damaged area, but couldn't find any
damage. By all natural and medical standards, Debra was "supposed"
to die. The Lord had touched Debra's body and she was completely
healed. Debra's prayer life really increased after this incident.
While serving in her
local congregation, Debra had been on several missions trips.
Her most recent trip, she served as an intercessor! "That
was an incredible privilege, that is what I did on the other trips
anyway", Debra stated. She has served on three church planting
teams, helping in practical venues like Singles Coordinator and
Greeting Coordinator.
In 1990 she attended
a conference in Kansas City, Missouri. At that time the Lord told
Debra this was the place He had prepared for her. Debra didn't
realize that it would take twelve years to prepare her to serve
in this capacity. In February 2002, after attending another conference
in Kansas City, Missouri, Debra returned to Virginia, turned in
her resignation at a company she had been employed for eight years,
sold her house and in June relocated to Kansas City to be a part
of the International House of Prayer.
Now, the passion of
Debra's life is realized. Serving as a full time Intercessory
Missionary keeps her very busy. They have community celebrations
every night, host five conferences a year and have people from
all over the world coming to learn how to set up a house of prayer
where they live. Debra serves on five teams as an intercessor,
also serves on one of the prophetic ministry teams, and serves
with the healing room ministry teams. Debra will be assisting
to establish Children's Help International, which will bring practical
help in meeting the material needs of food, clothing, furthering
education, developing life work skills (like planting and growing
crops for personal use) and selling in the market place, while
networking everyone together, and having a basis of worship at
the foundation for all! This will begin in the Philippines, but
soon extend to those in need all over the earth. She spends over
fifty hours a week serving in these areas and still the call to
prayer grows in her spirit. Debra is still sharing Jesus with
those she meets in the post office and grocery stores and will
tell anyone who will listen that Jesus is alive and loves them.
Debra has been invited to preach in various
pastors and women's conferences, churches and singles groups.
She is also available to teach two day seminars on the theme,
"Going from Intercession to Intimacy". Debra can be
