New Life Christian Fellowship at Great
Bridge
After years of patiently waiting for God's direction and
provision, the members of New Life Christian Fellowship at
Great Bridge (Chesapeake, Virginia) and their Senior Pastor,
Steve Morgan, are making major progress towards completing a
church facility by year's end. Some time ago the leaders
located 9+ acres of property with a strategic location in the
heart of one of the fastest growing communities in Virginia.
In May, they closed on the purchase of the property and
inked a loan which will result in a 11,500 square foot,
multi-use church facility.
Koinonia Christian Fellowship
Explosive growth has led Pastor Blake
Cromwell and Koinonia Christian Fellowship in Hanford,
California to purchase 18 acres of land on Highway 198, one of
the more visible locations in the county. At present, the land
is paid for and a significant percentage of the cost of the
new building has been raised through a stewardship campaign
called "Building People". They will be selling their existing
facility and applying the proceeds to the project.
The current plan is to build a 18,000 square foot
sanctuary and a 20,000 square foot educational facility.
Koinonia Christian Fellowships average weekend attendance
has soared to 1,200 making their present facility
(500 seats) obsolete. God has truly been blessing
this church with a great harvest and we are confident
that the new facility will aid them in fulfilling
God's destiny!

Vanguard's International Director Completes European
Training Events |
| |
Our International Director just completed 3 weeks of
ministry in Europe focusing on building relationships with new
leaders and churches. Integrity 2002 was a conference
sponsored by Trinity Baptist Church of London. It drew over
1,500 in attendance and the messages were well received. Next
on the tour was Holland and Germany. In both countries
Leadership Training events were held which attracted pastors
in the region or city. There were daily church services to
edify and strengthen the local churches.
Christian Baptist Church in Amsterdam and International
Christian Fellowship of Aachen, Germany, are truly
international like many of the European churches experiencing
rapid growth. They are attracting immigrants from particularly
African nations who are coming together in major European
cities to form local churches. Their vision is to win
indigenous nationals as well - and progress is being made.
Just for reference, did you know that the largest church in
Great Britain is led by a Nigerian pastor and is comprised of
85% internationals?
In all three countries God granted
special favor and there were strong prophetic and miracle
manifestations. Numerous contacts were made which may result
in Vanguard receiving new members from several European
countries.

Research on Multi-Site Church Available
Now |
| |
In the last year the model of multiple sites and venues
for a one-church expression in a city has become well
documented. Leadership Network has sponsored two Learning
Events to highlight several models being used today - we were
asked to make one of the presentations in March 2002. New Life
Christian Fellowship has multiplied into six congregations,
yet holds to one-church structures, vision and administration.
We are constantly asked for more details with regard to the
history of New Life Christian Fellowship's experience and the
lessons learned. One of our members, Dr. Jerry Graham, used
the New Life model as a basis for his doctoral dissertation at
Fuller Seminary. We have received permission to provide a PDF
file of the complete document available on our website.

A $1,000,000 Breakthrough! |
| |
Two years after a sister congregation was launched by
Word of Life Community Church of Cranston, RI in the inner
city of Providence, a major breakthrough has been realized. In
May 2002 they received approval from a private foundation to
receive a $1,000,000 grant. The money is to be used to provide
a holistic Christian response to the needs of urban youth and
children. They intend to fund the purchase of a community
center which will serve as a local church meeting site and an
urban community center. Some of the funds will also be used to
enable the award winning daycare center of WOLCC-Cranston to
impact the surrounding suburban neighborhood families. The
most exciting part of this miracle is the empowering results
for their membership. All of us are rejoicing with our VM
partner church in Rhode Island!
