God
did amazing things during our recent India trip. It was such a
privilege to serve Him in this land and work with our missionaries,
the Johns and Kaushals with Living Hope Ministries .
After
a 14 hour flight to Delhi and a few hours rest, we boarded the
train for Amritsar and the heart of the Punjabi region. After
arriving Saturday afternoon, we had the joy to attend and
be a part of a crusade in an outlying district of the city. Pastor
Joseph Umidi was able join our team for two days and preached
at this evening gathering. About 800 people attended, 23
came forward to receive Jesus as their Savior and God healed many during
a time of prayer.
Over
the next 5 days, we traveled to a different village each day and
held medical clinics ... we took care of their medical needs,
shared the Good News with each one and prayed for healing and
deliverance. All the people we saw were of the lowest caste or
the "untouchables" and 80-90% were of the the Sikh faith
while the remaining 10-20% were Hindu. The presence and power
of God's Spirit was manifest at each village. We were filled with
joy and thanksgiving as 138 people gave their hearts to the Lord,
43 were miraculously healed and 5 were delivered from the bondages
of the enemy during this time. PTL!
One
woman who was severely depressed and bound up by the
enemy
received deliverance as she and her husband gave their hearts
and lives to Jesus. One man was healed of deafness and many
others received healing for their arthritic joints and/or low
back pain. Thank God for His healing power!
We
also had the pleasure of ministering at 6 different village
fellowships on Sunday morning and in the evenings. We experienced
their worship (they know how to worship), shared His Word and had
opportunity to pray for many of the people. One
evening we prayer walked around the Golden Temple ...
the holiest site for the Sikh faith.
We traveled
back to Delhi by train 1 week later and then ministered
in a slum area of Delhi where there are many Bangladeshi refugees.
We held a medical clinic for the families one day and then the
next day ministered to 70 children in a school that
Living Hope Ministries has opened up in this slum. The team had
such a great time with them sharing Bible stories, doing
drama and bells, and passing our toothbrushes & toothpaste.
When
we finished our time of ministry in India we were tired, but
it was a good tired and very fulfilling. While there, we had the
privilege of ministering to a total of 1747 people with 173
salvations, 49 healings, and 5 deliverances. What a celebration
the angels are having in heaven! May all glory be His!
